Kappa Zeta Omega Chapter and Golden Member Recognized by the African American Leadership Society

The United Way of Anderson County’s African American Leadership Society held its annual Dream Awards Gala on Friday, June 21, 2024.

Kappa Zeta Omega received the Community Organization award. This award is presented to an organization that exemplifies United Way’s core mission of improving the community by providing leadership in identifying needs, securing and leveraging resources, and driving action. KZO’s 5-year impact includes awarding $60,000 in scholarships, donating $18,860 to non-profit organizations, and implementing sorority program initiatives in Anderson County and beyond.

Golden and Charter Member, Margaret Rucker and her husband Jason received the Dr. Beatrice Thompson Legacy Award. This award recognizes a pioneer in the community who, through the years, has fought, worked, advocated, and produced change through their community service, their voice, and their dedication. The Ruckers have been serving the Anderson community for over 50 years, leaving a lasting impact on many individuals and organizations.
